^.^ (Live Client 4.2.56 ) Not Responding (Event AppHang wurmlauncher64.exe) after login but during game launch - started today.

Playing since last year without issue with any of the clients or the launcher.  I normally use the Live client.  AS of today (02JULY22) apphang presents with the following clients:

 live client

 live low memory

 live limited memory client

 Test client

 Debug client

 

Activating the Wurm Client Launcher will present the select client window.  I select the live client and the LOGIN Gump appears.  I input USERNAME and PASSWORD, even though it might be present.  Then I select play resulting in a prolonged period of the waiting animation followed by a black screen.  If I click on the black screen a white screen appears intermittently.

Steps take

restart computer

Lanuched Wurm

Result: Apphang wurmlauncher64.exe

 

Hard reboot

Lanuched Wurm (Live)

Result: Apphang wurmlauncher64.exe

 

Installed Java JRE 8

restarted computer
Lanuched Wurm (Live)

Result: Apphang wurmlauncher64.exe

 

Uninstalled Installed Java JRE 8

Hard reboot

Lanuched Wurm (Live)

Result: Apphang wurmlauncher64.exe

Launched Old ui client

Successful Launch of old ui client.

 

Archived Wurm's diagnostic files and personal profiles, configurations etc.

Uninstalled Wurm via windows

Restarted computer

Deleted any remaining wurm data files, wurm profiles, wurm config files, and folders.

Emptied Trash folder.

Hard reboot

Downloaded fresh wurm installation file from Wurmonline.com by pressing the play button

Installation behaved like a fresh installation.."This seems to be your first time installing ....". ie java install,....this wurm directory does not exist.....

launched Wurm

Selected live client

Wurm updated.

I input username and password and clicked Eula agreement block

Result: Apphang wurmlauncher64.exe

Launched Old ui client

Successful Launch of old ui client.

 

How best to proceed in the effort of restore play using Live client?

 

 

The program WurmLauncher64.exe version 1.0.0.1 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Dxdiag is pretty irrelevant.

 

You need to post a log file of the client.

Having trouble with that too on another computer, do you know how to fix it?
