The animation is already there. The audio file could be obtained for free. Let dogs bark FFS.

wouldn't it be lovely to murder all from local to not hear any barks.. (it's what happens to all crabs/spiders/scorpions making sounds - start with red hp bar and ends with silence...)

--edit

it's ok idea.. but really could annoy some old players used to quiet locals, implementing it wouldn't be as good as you imagine

Let mountain lions scream between the hours of 2200-0500 every Wurm day.  It'd be cool to scare the newbies hunting at night.

They tried it with cows before, it was a bit too much.

I like the idea but it would require some coding work to not make it overwhelming.

With the profile pic you were sporting there for a while, it's a wonder why you feel obliged to judge anyone else's level of classiness...

And yes, FFS, dogs that don't bark?? It's a fair point.

I missed the mooing cows and I could see how they would be annoying if they loudly mooed every two seconds. I agree code the animal noises to occur on a less frequent level and at a subtle volume. As it is the silence is deafening.

It is one of the main reasons I have been playing wurm on mute for the past 5 years. The sound design and general ambiance is... non existent tbh. Feels like a lifeless world.
