Can I use a nonstandard IP address to host a Wurm Unlimited server behind CGNAT

Recommended Posts

So I've been fighting this for a while now. My ISP uses CGNAT, therefor I cannot port forward. To get around this I use ngrok. This works well for other things, but when hosting a Wurm Unlimited server the players need to be able to type in a "nonstandard" IP address (something like 1.ngrok.something.1:11111). This triggers an error for an invalid IP address. Is there a way around this. I thought about posting this in the mods section as I feel a mod may be the solution. I am open to using free services other than ngrok if anyone has experience with this. Currently I have everything set up on a headless Linux Server. I can host a local server, but that's about it right now.

Thanks in advance for any help the community can provide.

Although never tried there seem to be services which suppose to provide regular IP and ports to the outside like portforward.io which I found through a quick search.

Be very careful exposing anything in your network to any such service and make sure nothing else is accessible.
