no start wurm

Recommended Posts

When i ckilck on the destop icon i see the start logo and then an screen opens for the download.

It disappears immediately after opening and nothing happens anymore.

Tried reinstalling Wurm 64bit but that didn't help.

What can I do to fix this?

You need to try run it in command prompt, hope it gives more info what goes wrong.

1) Right click start icon and chose properties and copy the command that executed.

2) open command prompt, run command cmd.exe

3) right click window and paste the line in and press enter

Hopefully an error printed when it stops. Paste result here to get help figure out what is wrong.

The key is you need to run the launcher from command window. run cmd.exe to open a command window. Windows key + R to get run command then type cmd press enter.

Right-click the Wurm shortcut icon, then click Properties, copy the line in the Target box

Press start, then in "Search programs and files" type cmd and press Enter

In the cmd little window, right-click and paste the line copied from the properties, then again hit Enter.

If you past the line from properties, it should download the client.

Java might be requiring administrator rights, either because of the installation path or other reason, are you user or admin, have you tried to run the new client as administrator. ( right lick run as admin..)

You might have been asked the 1st time about UAC controls and permissions and have missclicked to block instead of allow the application, unsure where list of such was to fix it.. but it's 1 option to explore and google for.

What is your computer? Sounds dumb... but you could be running any kind of potato with arm chip or even 32bit... just to clear that can you mention specs or show cpu info from start > run > dxdiag or properties on my computer.(just pointers if you have no clue)

If java runs at all, in game folder there might be a console log with information what have happened, open the folder where wurm is installed and see if you find a recently modified file, unsure for the 2-3 conventional names that logs use as I rarely had my client to crash(in years..) and wiki lacks troubleshooting page with these things explained. <best hope now is waiting on some CA with copy/paste links of this problem/solution explained> that sometimes is quick, other times takes days.

good luck

If you haven't yet, Please try going to "C:\Users\(myname)\wurm\configs" and deleting all of the folders there. Sometimes configs will get confused and it could cause the launcher to not start right.
