The ability to squash unfired clay objects

Recommended Posts

It would be nice (and make sense) to be able to squash unfired clay objects back into clay. Since there may be balance concerns (a player could squash/remake the same cup repeatedly for skillgain), it could be made so that the process of squashing would only return some of the clay the object was made out of.

I understand that many players consider grinding pottery to be bothersome, and this slight convenience might improve things somewhat.

Sure. All that's needed is a clay press, and more water.

Yes please! We already have the mechanics for it in the pottery smelter; resultant clay lumps lose some mass and are capped at the ql of the item being smooshed.

YES PLEASE!

This has been requested before, and will likely be requested again before it is implemented, but a major part of pottery is the whole "no lost clay" aspect.

One possible mechanism:  Cap the ql at something a bit less than the object, add the object to a bucket full of water, to make slurry, then put the slurry in a cloth satchel to recover the clay from the water (less a bit of mass due to what washes away in the water).
