Update:

 

It seems by alt tabbing out and in to the game(full screen or windowed). This has a direct impact in crashing the client. It can drop the client with in a few minutes or in several minutes. 

 

Also noted: the sound in some cases stops working in wurm when tabbed back in. May or may not be related
