How do times on Inspect Animal page work?

According to the inspect animal page the time until being able to breed was 44 hours but it was able to breed immediately.  After breeding the timer now read 141 hours.  Is it possible to change the time to show either real life time left, if any, or negative time when it is actually ready? Even changing it to 'Ready' when they can breed again would be better.  As is stands now it is meaningless since it is always 10s of hours at least regardless of readiness.
