Dye Specific Parts of Timber Framed Walls

Recommended Posts

Rather than applying the dye to the entire wall as seen here

It'd be really nice to be able to only dye the white paneling between the frames, by adding the option to dye them separately similar to ships with their sails.

I'm sure there's plenty of other items that suffer a similar issue.

Suggested here years ago as well, seems it'd be do-able from Retro's initial response.

Yes.  You get to choose what part of beds and boats get dyed, so a wall that is defined by having two type of material is an obvious candidate.

This should be possible for all wall types. If we could exclude the wooden trim and doors, and/or paint them separately I'd definitely be using dyes a lot more.

Frankly, the timber type should be reflected in the "base" colour of the wall, anyway.

+1 An absolute yes to being able to paint the plaster part of the wall separate from the timber. Painting it all kills the contrast and ruins the timber frame look. It's why my timber frame tower is still white.
