What happens when someone is banned?

When a player is banned, like as in the recent enki announcement, what happens exactly?

 

Do all the items in their inv go poof? What about their deed? And can they start a new character with a new email address?

items stay in inventory but gm's have a command to collect a banned players inventory for whatever reason, deed gets converted to democracy so the other people in it can vote for a new mayor if the mayor is banned, if nobody else in village it stays until upkeep runs out, depends on the severity of the ban some are just account bans some are ban on sight. if they get a gallows post it's definitely the latter.

Interesting. What of their coffers in the bank? Released back to the common pool?

No mechanics change because of a player being banned. It's the exact same as if the player stopped playing.

Games bans are usually separate from forum or Discord bans too; though, such descending into complete bans has happened.

 

If you are banned, its highly recommended not to contest it in public persay.

 

Everything is treated on a case by case basis afaik, so its possible one might get a reprieve after a year or so. Granted this has bitten staff in the ass more than a few times.

From what I've seen if you get banned and you appeal you get your inventory and money back but you get your skills reset, but those were regular bannings not the ones that get cringe callouts

If you get banned from a steam launched client, is it a steam user ID based ban and you have to create another steam account? or is it just a user ban?
