Typo - spindle on cotton

Recommended Posts

There's an extra space before the full stop, it's more noticeable in the event window.

[06:25:33] You start to work with the spindle on the cotton .

Hey Muse, I tried this out on both test and live server and my event message didn't have the extra space.

Yes this is the text on the smallest 90% UI text setting.  The cut and paste above shows a space.

This is from a an hour and a half ago:

[04:21:42] You start to work with the spindle on the cotton .

Same space.

checking for the message as it is.. with or w/o the space and dot, not so important..

Quote

grep -i "You start to work with the spindle on the cotton" _Event.* | wc -l
12627 *results in event logs since 2015~

checking for the exact muse event log message with space and then a dot - 0 results

Quote

grep -i "You start to work with the spindle on the cotton ." _Event.* | wc -l
0 *results

something's off with the client

--edit - what I use:

wurm launcher here says 4.2.41 as version.. but that's what we all use ... I guess.. it's the auto-updating new ui client

I don't have a screenshot just now, I'll post one when I get the chance. :)

I am using the live client 4.2.41 (70ec840) with the new UI scale set to 80% and the text scale set to 90%

This is how it is exporting the text to the Event log file:

Spoiler

I can only assume it is client side like Finnn says, if WO has no record of it.

I am assuming because there is a gap that the gap is actually a conventional space, but could it be some other ASCII type character or bug that is not being displayed or output in either font?   If it was some other kind of white space, I'm thinking it might not show up in your search containing a normal space before the full stop.  Perhaps a wildcard would have found it if that were possible.  (I'm just rambling!)  Thanks @Pomonaand @Finnn, it is appreciated.

Copied and pasted same message "[04:21:42] You start to work with the spindle on the cotton ." in random string2ascii and it seems to be the same ascii symbol for normal SPACE. (https://onlinestringtools.com/convert-string-to-ascii)

I haven't modified my scaling - it's at 100% here.

*These replies are normally server -> client communication when you perform actions.. but here I'm out of ideas why there's space... so far seen only 1 case of UI scaling settings messing up Crafting window and the result box being a bit to the side of where the graphics show it to be.
