I’m primarily a cook, but figured I'd make a merchant post to get rid of some of my excess rune mats by offering a rune service! Services: Price: Attach of your rune 0.5 silver on successful attach Guaranteed non-moon metal rune on your item 1 silver Guaranteed Seryll rune on your item 3 silver* Guaranteed Glimmersteel rune on your item 5 silver* Guaranteed Adamantine rune on your item 6 silver* General Info: The prices of guaranteed rune include runes crafted using my own materials. In other words, it's an all-in-one solution where materials+creation+application is included in the price. Guaranteed means I keep trying until I succeed. I only rune items that can be sent via mailbox or delivered to me on Cadence. I will make an exception to this if you can summon me on Cadence and my "Recall home" is off cooldown (8h CD). Sorry everyone else who wants their mailbox runed, I'm too lazy to travel! I do not sell the rune itself (without the attach). I do not offer a service of crafting runes using your materials. * These offers are limited, as I have a limited amount of moon metal. What is a rune? A rune is something you put on an item to give it an additional effect, such as increased vehicle speed or a glow.There is also a category for scavenger runes, but they can only be found pre attached to items acquired through Archaeology. A list of all the possible man made runes can be found above. Q. How many runes can I have on each item? One rune per item, unless it's an Archaeology item, in which case it's possible to get them with multiple runes.Q. How do I make runes? The skills to make runes are Fine carpentry, Jewelry smithing and Stone cutting. The skill that determines success rate on attaching the rune is Soul Depth. You get materials to make runes from participating in rifts as well as gather it from the various rift plants/stones found at the rift site after a rift has been closed.Q. All of this rune types and stuff is confusing for me. How does that work?Wood runes are crafted from rift wood, using Fine carpentry skill. Rift wood is gathered using Woodcutting.Wood runes can be attached to wood items. Stone runes are crafted from rift stone, using Stone cutting skill. Rift stone is gathered using Mining.Stone runes can be attached to stone, pottery, cloth and leather items. Crystal runes are crafted from rift crystal, using Jewelry smithing. Rift crystal is gathered using Prospecting. Crystal runes can be attached to metal items. Some omni runes can be attached to anything, no matter what their rune type is.Q. Wait, what's this "omni rune" you speak of?Some runes can be attached to anything, no matter what they're made of. I call these runes omni runes. The wiki notes these runes by adding "(any item)" after the rune description but the wiki doesn't have all omni runes listed. Most omni runes follow one of these rules: If the rune effect is a spell If the rune effect is cannot affect all three (Wood/stone/metal) material categories. For example, there are no stone vehicles so the rune effect vehicle speed cannot affect any stone items. Therefore, any rune with vehicle speed increase is an omni rune. Q. I already have a rune on my item but I want another rune on it. How do I get rid of my current rune? Successfully attaching a rune on an item replaces the current rune. You can also get rid of runes by using the spell dispel. Q. I have no runed items, but I’d like to start using some runes on my items. Any recommendations?The usefulness of runes are very varied, compared to things like enchants. Here are some examples of useful runes, in no particular order: Wagon: ZincMag (“5% increased size, 5% vehicle speed (any item)”) Putting a size rune on your wagon allows you to load a bsb or fsb, which unlocks a lot of possible utility. Boat: BronzeVyn (“7.5% Wind Speed, 5% Vehicle Speed”) Self explanatory Pickaxe/Hatchet/shovel/Sickle/Butchering knife: BronzeLib (“10% higher gather QL (any item) (QL of gathered items does not exceed skill level for mining or woodcutting)”) For mining, It allows you to go past the vein QL, turning any utmost vein in to a ql99 vein. For woodcutting it makes felled trees 10% higher ql, capping at your woodcutting skill For shovel/sickle/butchering knife, it makes clay/apples/pelt/etc. 10% higher quality, not capped at your skill level. Toolbelt: BrassJack (“"Decent" Glow”) It makes your toolbelt act as a mid quality lantern, but with no fuel usage. The reason why I recommend putting this rune on a toolbelt and not a ring or a backpack or something is because you’ll almost certainly always carry your toolbelt and a toolbelt can be dyed with normal dye which won’t visually affect it in any way but will visually affect the color of the light. White is common to use. Large Magical Chest: SilverMag (“10% increased volume”) Makes the LMC go from 300L to 330L volume. Mailbox: ZincMag (“5% increased size, 5% vehicle speed (any item)”) Putting a size rune on your mailbox allows you to mail certain things that you otherwise cannot mail, such as logs, planks, fishing rod, etc. Items that take a lot of damage: SteelVyn ("10% less damage taken") Good for things like moon metal weapons (expensive to re-imp) or hide/scale gear (high repair difficulty). Q. I already have most of the basic runes and my budget allows for even more runes. Any other fun rune ideas? Large cart: AdaMag ("10% vehicle speed") Makes the cart go 10% faster. Better the faster the cart goes by default, so it's good paired with hell horses and/or good gear. Imping tools & creation tools: GlimLib ("10% usage speed") 10% faster makes you, for example, go from a 3 second action timer down to a 2.7 second action timer. Large crates: GoldJack ("10% reduced size") Makes the crate take up almost 500L less volume. 4 of these crates take up less volume than 3 normal un-runed crates. This means you can fit 4 runed crates in your cart and still have more space over than using 3 normal crates. Items you always carry around: ZincVyn ("10% less weight") Spyglass and compass are two of many examples of weight runed items I have. I'm sure there's plenty of good examples. Larder: SilverVyn ("10% less decay on contents) This rune applies to all "child-containers", meaning you only need it on the larder itself and it'll apply to every shelf. It doesn't apply twice, so it's wasteful to put it on every shelf as well as the larder itself. So now I do! 🙃 [15-09-2021] Prices for moon metal runes has been lowered from 9s to 8s. - I got some Moonies stocked up now, so I can charge a bit less for a while 😀 [03-12-2021] Prices for moon metal runes has been lowered from 8s to 7s. - My soul depth is going up! upupupupup.. [17-01-2022] Prices for moon metal runes has been lowered from 7s to 6s. - Moon metal isn't as expensive now as they were a few months ago. Prices for normal metal runes has been lowered from 2s to 1.75s. - Because I can [08-04-2022] Prices for normal metal runes has been lowered from 1.75s to 1.5s. - I still can! Moon metal runes has been split up. Prices for Seryll runes has been lowered from 6s to 3s. Prices for Glimmersteel runes has been lowered from 6s to 4s.
