Fix the alchemist's cupboard

Considering how difficult it is to make, the alchemist's cupboard is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

 

It's somewhere to store all your valuable liquids, where they will be easily accessible and... not protected from decay 🙄

 

Remember, any liquid can be preserved 100% by storing it in a barrel sealed with a peg, or for the extravagant, an amphora sealed with a wax sealing kit. It's my position that a specialist, hard to make storage cupboard should be slightly better than a small barrel in terms of its preservative properties, and considering the minuscule cost of a wooden peg, the only way for it to be better would be for usage to be free.

 

I'd like this thread to be a place for suggestions to fix this.

In order of cheapness, here are my ideas:

1. Just change the code so that there's no decay in an alchemist's cupboard in a building on a deed.
2. As above, but require the cupboard to be Blessed.
3. As above, but require the sacrifice of a chicken or something, just so that people can say there's a real cost.

Unless changed you also can't mix in an alchemist cupboard. If I want to make blue dye, I can't combine in it. Kinda annoying.

+1 I agree the alchemist cupboard is really only good for decoration at this point. I like these ideas accept for #3 in the OP. But That's just me.

I don't like #3 either. I'm including it for those who feel that the other suggestions might be "too easy"

More volume per container in the cupboard would be my number one wish if this item ever gets looked at.

I like #3 😂 IF you want to use it to store the blood of uniques.
