Client crash

My steam server character launched no problem earlier today, after a log off break nothing but client crashes, even after resetting steam and rebooting pc.

Here is the latest crash report:

It is the new render + hair and water.

 

Fix = Legacy Renderer + Water Reflections & GLSL disabled.

Son fixed it, but lost all my settings, so i have to redo those

This points towards Ambient Occlusion being the culprit, maybe disable that one and the modern renderer might run again

Reading around, is "WARNING: Unable to compile pixel shader (shader.hbao_blur.fragment): class.edSYe8ei6: 0:57(13): error: no function with name 'texture2D'"

a sympton of "material has a base color texture but the primitive doesn't have texture coordinates"?

Oi Saroman.  I had this error today (but never before) when logging in to a server and your advice fixed it.  It is true that there was also a Mesa update since the last time I played Wurm.

Edit:  Wow things are snappy today.  I assumed from the name that Ambient Occlusion was a good thing, but I'll be keeping it right off from now on, unless I decide to test it later.

I accidentally logged into Wurm without using MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.2 the other day and the game did not crash.  Until recently it would.  I don't know who changed what where, but I can now run Wurm with ambient occlusion set to 'Medium' without tweaks.

A bunch of shaders have been rewritten to use more modern OpenGL conventions, it seems. Good, that should pay off in the future.
