Allow blessed bowls to work for sacrificing mobs again

Recommended Posts

whenever they reworked missions for epic, the ability to sacrifice mobs at a blessed bowl was removed, kind of a lame change for the sacrifice x mobs missions, as now you have to dump random high ql altars all over the map to be able to do them, not much of a problem on pve as there's often deed altars and rift altars scattered all over the place but for pvp servers it basically means you have to take half a dozen bowls/altar mats with you to actually get a mission done with the majority of the map having no influence/people desecrating enemy religion altars. re-enable bowl sacrificing or remove influence requirement thanks

Just found out the other day that you can’t sac at blessed bowls anymore. Thankfully I wasn’t far from deed and could kite the mob back for saccing, but quite annoying.

Going hunting as a priest is annoying because you always have to kite things back to altar and aren't really incentivised to explore because you are tied to an area setup with altar spam nearby your deed. The missions make this more annoying because you have to leave a strange altar in someone else's neighbourhood just to complete it.

Didn't know / forgot about blessed bowls. But I wanted to suggest a new item on the lines of an incense burner (for RP reasons) allowing you to make a temporary personal domain for while now but didn't know how to balance it.

This is kinda on the line of the problem of what I wanted to fix, so I'll leave what I thought up for it atm here:

  • A semi difficult to create item using fire making or Jewelry Smithing skillsets / mixture of both
  • Uses a fuel source associated with all priests (Cordage Ropes)
  • When the cordage rope is burnt it creates a personal domain for that priest for 1 or 2 seconds per 1 favour that the cordage rope would usually be sacrificed at (might have to be balanced)
  • The domain strength is based on the incense burners overall quality
  • The incense burner takes damage based on how long it has been burning and takes more damage at higher QL

Addendum:

While you could just sacrifice the cordage rope at an altar for it's base favour. This incentivises exploration without having to stop every 5 minutes to create an altar, but you also cannot stay out forever because it still uses up a consumable resource. Meaning the priest isn't leashed to an altar, can't just sacrifice an item and when raiding on pvp they are still incentivised to build a silver altar because they would make more favour from the cordage ropes than this item which lets priests boost their spell power when roaming at a cost and convert cordage rope into portable favour by sacrificing animals.

This way it doesn't counter the point of gems, because it doesn't let you sacrifice items. Gems still have there purpose of quick favour incase of emergencies while this gives you the basic ability to sacrifice mobs out in the wild without having to setup camp, and the secondary purpose of if you want to maintain the high quality of the item, a portable, activatable spell power boost which decreases over time.

It would solve the issue where tons of random altars popping up in the landscape. There are areas on the maps where you stumble into a few stray altars in every local - makes it easier to do the saccing missions but devalues the altar as a holy item.
