New, just settled down and want to ranch and farm?

Recommended Posts

If you're past the I just started and don't know what to do phase, and now have started your very first deed and want to try out farming and ranching and looking for your first set of animals to breed, I can help you.

My deed at Sanderling Priory, which is not too far east of the starter town of Heartland, has some extra sheep, cattle, and horses I'm willing to give to newer players (characters at the stage where they're settled in a new home and try out premium).

I can give you a starter breeder pair of sheep or cattle with no known negative traits (at least as far as I can tell with my Animal Husbandry of around 24) that you can use to raise your own herd!

Horses, because of the stat requirement for riding them, I'll only give to those who've gotten premium and have an effective Body Control of 21+.  Basically, if you're able to ride it away you can have one.

Don't expect 5-speed in-demand horses, these are simple riding horses with maybe one or no speed traits and no negative traits that I'm aware of.

You can always breed more in time on your own if you set it as 'cared-for' so it won't die of old age.  Even non-premium players can care for a single animal to keep it from dying from ageing.

Anyways, I tend to log onto Harmony every day with my character Tantris, so give me a /tell Tantris there when you see me on if you're interested and we can chat to arrange things.

Forum PMing me here can also work for us to try to arrange a time we both can be on for arranging for you to get an animal or two.

I also have roosters if you're interested in having a pet.  They don't play any role in the fertility or laying of eggs by hens in Wurm Online, but you can gain Animal Handling skill by grooming them and if you keep them fed you can have your own pet rooster to share your new-built home with.  Also, I've plenty of farm crops of all kinds, even herbs, if you're in need of a certain type of plant to grow (like cotton?) and foraging and botanizing hasn't given you the type you need.  So just let me know and I can give you a few of those as well to help you start your farm crop of your choice.

So as fellow Harmonites, here's some free help if you're relatively new and growing frustrated and not being able to start raising animals due to never finding the ones you want in the wild.

Sanderling Priory has a wonderful forest on the waterfront (h17 on the ingame and community maps) and I'm willing to help escort you safely back to your homestead with your new animals and seed plants.

Regrettably, we're not connected to the Catseye highway system at the moment but not too far away from it.  You can see our location on the Harmony community map.

Here's a special new addition for new players starting out around the Heartland starter town:  Donkeys!

If you'd like one and you've started at Heartland and so are in that general area, I can deliver to there so you'll be able to have an animal to ride.

No charge, these will be given free.  Just remember the good deed and help out other new players in the future.

If you're in Harmony and see Tantris showing in CA Help, you can in-game message me with a /tell Tantris I'd like a donkey pls!

It'd be good if you can work on gathering some logs to cut into planks and shafts and gather some iron for crafting nails too, so you can craft at some place off the claimed area for your own donkey pen (don't forget to craft one section as a gate so it's not walled in).

For players who've had a chance to settle in a little more, my post above still applies so you can let me know you're interested and get some other animals too, for free, to start out with.
