Done. Checked Niarja and corrected spelling, not that you can read the names on the map, lol. That's a giant cluster-#### of them there, lol

I'm considering trying to convert the most recent highway map dump, it's currently 2 years old and Wurm calls this map routes.png, into a format that yaga map will accept. I have a basic idea how to do the conversion. But I need to know about the process and data format for adding roads to yaga map.

 

I think this covers format.

If your interested in how I plan to do the conversion I can summarize the steps. First, do color match filtering on the highway maps dumps to find the positions of highway colored pixels. Next, add error handling for matched pixel that aren't highways. Finally, convert all those positions to a data format yaga map likes.

Came across a canal.  It is usable knarr, and has a road along side it.  Looks like it was originally a private access to a single deed, but the old deed (Ak'Anon by the bridge names) has fallen and it looks like it is just wild lands now.

Well, the data is kept on a google docs spreadsheet, so I assume that each cell has a max of 256 characters like Excel does (or did). Each category of the features (deeds, tunnels, bridges, highways, special places, etc) has it's own sheet. So, you'd have to break it up into bite sized chunks. Each end point of a line has to be defined, and formatted like the example above. If you can automate the process and spit out coordinates in that format, more power to you.

 

You might want to contact Yaga directly to talk more in-depth about the process and how the data combines with the underlying mapdump image to produce the finished project.  LIke I said on the Freedom chat last night or whenever it was, I'm of the opinion that it's pretty easy to see where the main roads are on the map, so think it's ok as is, but if you want to put in the effort, knock yourself out.

for tuna is no longer a deed.  There is a deed there, however, as they didn't ID themselves probably best to just take it off the map.

Please add a new public tunnel to the xan map: Thule (i-18) to Leptos (j-18)

coords are: (4515, 3045) to (4515, 3592)

long name: "Thule-Leptos Express"

short name: "TLX"

 

i'm still cleaning and paving, but it connects all the way through from the lakeshore to the marina underneath Thule and is open for all to use..

I'll be widening it to include a canal as well..
