Cadence Community Map

 

Im working together with@Yagaon making and maintaining the Cadence community map.

 

 

The official community map link is here:

This map is currently using the ingame map as a background. Note that as soon as the official map dumps of the Northern Freedom Isles are released, we will change the background.

How to add stuff:

Please post in this thread to report new or changed data. (Do not send PMs, neither on the forum nor in-game! Do not use Discord to add data either!)

Please use tile coordinates (x, y) to report new map data. (Hover your mouse pointer over the location you wish to report, click once to see the coordinates in the "Selected" field, copy the coordinates.)

Deeds: Please report the settlement name and the coordinates of the settlement token. Example: "Serendipity Bay [1650, 1384]"

DO NOT POST DEEDS THAT AREN'T YOURS OR HAVE APPROVAL TO POST BY MAYOR.

IF you find your deed has been added without consent, please post here.

 

When the official map dumps arrive we will take on these things:

Highways: Please report the coordinates of all points describing the highway (start,  "corners", end). Please use this format: "[305,1453], [305,1415], [226,1415], [226,1383], [156,1383]"

Tunnels, Canals, Bridges: Like highways. These elements can also be given a name.

Other: You can also report clay and tar resources, guard towers, and special named landmarks (like names of lakes and mountains, as long as agreed among the local community.)

 

 

 

 

 

Features

1. Map coordinates:

The map offers a common type of map grid (as an optional overlay), using the same denotation as the in-game map (for example "E 24").

However, to place and find locations in a much more detailed way the new map is based on "tile coordinates" (x, y), making it possible to narrow down locations to a single tile on the server!

This allows us to place deeds and landmarks much more precisely than before. (Map coordinates are explained in the next post.)

 

2. Zoom:

The map provides various zoom levels, allowing to zoom in from a view of the entire server to close-ups of single deeds.

 

3. Layers - This point will get added when we have the official map dump of Cadence:

Deeds, Tunnels, Canals, Bridges etc. are actually map layers which can be toggled on and off. You can also choose among two map types (Terrain, Topographical).

 

4. Finding settlements:

The map offers an easy-to-use search function for deeds.

 

5. Selecting locations and copy coordinates:

You are able to select any point on the map and save the coordinates for future use.

 

 

 

 

Map Development:

The software for this map was developed by Substr, and will be maintained and updated by both Substr and Yaga. It is part of an ongoing project. Further improvements and features will be added in future updates. I would like to share my thanks to Sybstr and Yaga who creates quality community content.

Three Hands Trading Company 2296, 1043 also has an active guard tower

Bludscythe Shipyards 2264,1355 also has one end of boat tunnel east-west from roughly 2239,1334 to 2171,1330 the tunnel is able to take all draft sizes however there will be clipping because we have not yet gotten the ceiling high yet

Okay, here we go.

 

First and foremost, personal POI: Our canal is nearly ready (another day or two to get the whole thing down to -6). Coordinates are [1538,1694], [1538,1631].

We have a guard tower at [1542,1662].

 

And then, the highway known as Coastal Catwalk. Split up in groups of five for easier reading. (Edit: If you have to attach the name to a specific section of highway, put it on the first one, just East of Azure Dreams)

[1510,1665], [1720,1665], [1745,1640], [1790,1640], [1800,1630],

[1835,1630], [1910,1705], [1910,1730], [2010,1730], [2040,1760],

[2040,1780], [2070,1780]

 

And last but not least, there is a small bridge at [2071,1777], [2071,1772] to allow for water passage into a boat tunnel going Westward that is nearly complete; that's not my project, so I'll leave it to the engineer of that project to offer information on that.

 

Edit: If it matters, there's a small bridge at [1535,1665], [1540,1665] across the canal. It's part of the Coastal Catwalk line, so I don't know if it really matters.

Missing two segments on the Highway, and it's probably my fault for breaking it up into 5s.

 

[1800,1630] to [1835,1630]

and

[2040,1760] to [2040,1780]

 

Edit: And I notice that Bridges are showing up under tunnels/canals. Shouldn't they be above?

Object on the shelf at 1188, 2777 is no longer there i deeded in the place when it disbanded my deed name is Star Nova. Pleaze edit and add me to the map thank you.

Those segments should be there. They are in the system. Also what do you mean by bridges showin gup under tunnels and canals?

This was a software issue - thanks for the heads-up.

Drawing order should be correct in the new software version 1.78 - you may have to clear your browser cache to see the changes.
