Posted November 26, 2020 No, I regret I have to disagree with your suggestion. An affinity is something that many players yearn to 'win' or seek to buy using the mark store. Some players have used their recent Black Friday investments to buy many random affinities. Posted November 26, 2020 Why though? As much as I am bothered by my ballistae affinity on a pve priest it might as well just be there. Now you know what would be cool? Some wunderwaffle ritual that allows storing and trading of affinites. Although probably unbalanced and not very fun in the end, not sure. And while you're at it, just eliminate PvP altogether. 95% of the bans over Wurm's history have probably been from PvP, and for sure 90% of the bitchin and moaning on the forums is from PvP'ers, yet they only make up what, like 15% of the Wurm population? Posted November 26, 2020 This will get shot down quicksmart, but selectable affinities would have been good, instead of random ones. Pick at character creation, and then when you get an affinity you get to pick which it is. It would allow people to actually build their character in line with their intentions for the character. I was the administrator or a GM in quite a few games, and we didn't persecute alts because it is virtually not possible and there is not much gain in it, especially in the time of VPNs.
