Favor regen nerf without patch notes

Can any dev explain why favor regen is ~65% slower without even being mentioned in the patch notes. No idea if this has been mentioned anywhere but feels like this deserves it's own topic.

This is unlinked, same CCFP, same faith, nothing changed other than the game being patched.

It's maybe lag, maybe bug, maybe mix of those, well, until the devs can verify if they can reproduce it and fix it, you'll need to tune your time lapse between grinds unfortunately

This was not an intentional change, and apparently wasn't even due to the other favor changes. It's a side effect to this:

Before today's update, after a server has had a period of lag, it unintentionally did some catch-up runs causing things like sleep bonus running too fast (fixed in an update before this one), creatures running too fast, animals being born too fast and some other things - it was very gamebreaking, so we had removed that catch-up polling.

 

It'd be helpful if you could verify those test results took place on the more laggy servers (so probably only the new ones, mostly Harmony), but I believe it's exclusive to those.

 

We're working on a solution which will either just bring the regular favor regen rate back to how it was before this change, or make the regen rates fully independent of server lag so it would be consistent at all times.

They were not intentional changes. Obscure code and no testing leads to unanticipated results.

I think they are just messing up a bunch of stuff with those "lag fixes" , i'm still trying to understand if the stealth-nerf on rare creation being now 5~10 times harder to make is intentional or not.

There were no unlisted additional changes. Favor gain was far too slow due to lag, then too fast due to the flawed "catching up" behavior Samool mentioned. As he said, a solution is being worked on to resolve all of this.

PLEASE let the "all of this" solution keep batteries viable, or simply eliminate the need for batteries completely, with a much faster favor regen than before the massive nerf patch today.
