Please fix mob density on Melody

Recommended Posts

All the land is deeded and the mobs moved north. Stuck on tiny peninsulas and islands, all of the non-aggro mobs are chillin. Whats the deal? 10 years to work on the code and mobs are still roam north? This is week two, how are they even up there already?

A single deed that has had 0 development at all and has been up for a week is holding 40 bugged horses. A sweep of the entire southern forest yields 2 horses. No mobs in the south to hunt. No land in the north to claim. Hope you didn't lose the deed placement lottery.

Pretty sure this is an issue across all servers. And on top of that a more serious issue on the Defiance server, where the kingdoms in the north have a lot easier access to training their fight skill compared to HoTS in the south.

Lets organize a kill. We'll clear the scorpions out of the desert. Can't do much about deeded horses except build a fence to try and divert them.

They'll just go back lmao. This is a bigger issue revolving around the code on animals that has been ignored for...10 years? The fact that it's this bad as that these animals were there last wednesday already means something is omega wrong.

This needs to be looked at as on defiance we are massivly stuggling to find even basic animals to gain FS. Meanwhile all other kingdoms are having the mobs come to them lol. I have mentioned this in a few places and have been told 'it's always been that way' or 'just move'. As you can imagine HoTS moving into JK and MR territory just to get basic FS when they have had free reign to gain is just stupid and is starting to ruin the experiance for a number of players.

On Defiance here. This is a major issue for us as Mob density is proportional to fighting skill grind efficiency. Down south us HOTS have to search for 5 mins to find a single mob, compared to up north in the other two factions, you can chop your way across a field of mobs. The high density of mobs should be focused around the central area of the map, and gradient out in all directions, to less density towards the outside of the map/starter areas. I can see the other system working on PVE maps to some degree, but it certainly does not belong on a PVP server.

Not even. Animals are resources, and resources are skill and money. Not to mention the entire north coast minus that sand mob hell is deeded. So animals just roam onto peoples deeds and chill there. All those horses are deeded. Both pictures. They just roamed there.

This is an issue of massive proportion that needs to be addressed... but i doubt it will...precedent would suggest it will be ignored and called "intended".

Bump with more, all stuck on the northern tip of a peninsula. They tried to get to their sweet sweet northern coast but alas fell short. But its all deeded land so they are safe.

It is the same on Harmony.  Go out looking for mobs and spend hours to find nothing.  Getting to a stage where you can't even get meat to make food.  Nothing but a few trolls on the steppe and can walk from HB to east coast and see nothing.

But as others have pointed out, this is a bigger issue on the PVP server as again BL have a massive disadvantage as they always have had since Beta.

Well as you can see they don't care enough to say anything when its brought up... continuously. Unless is the famous "we are looking into it" line. Why would this time be different?

Resolved? What a joke. There are like 4 mobs in the south that arnt 2000 slope up a mtn.

Every 3 or 4 hours the horses move back into the North East corner of the pen after being redistributed around the pen.

I have made a couple posts over the years as ways to address this. One suggestion was to make mobs on cliffs age very fast, as they tend to get stuck on them. Another was to reverse the north / south pathing each week. They will congregate in the center more, but at least not trapped in remote corners.

Eventually a dev will acknowledge they have seen this post to inspire confidence in the community...surely...

Well things got "fixed" where it was amazing over on Defiance. Now its back to being crap again. Applies to other servers too.
