Posted August 7, 2020 A lot people enjoy to have a channel now in their language and would like to use them more general. So I suggest make them general language specific channels. If anyone asks questions they are answered anyway so there is no point to limit them to just "help" because that makes some narrow minded people just to police the channels like "that is not something that belongs in a help channel". Posted August 7, 2020 They should have channels for all languages and we chose to join or leave as an IRC, using command. because 1 channel for all languages is a mess. /join #spanish /join #russian /join #portuguese /join #japanese /join #chinese and so on.... And the leave command/leave #channelname It doesn't have to be a profile option , if you join the channel that means you want to be there and you can leave at any time. Everquest 2 uses this channel system
Posted August 7, 2020 Not quite that easy, sadly. Dont't forget the need for chat moderators that understand and speak all those languages.

I understand, yes moderation would be the barrier but the "Other Non-English Chat" doesn't end up having the same problem? "Other Non-English" means any language other than English. The difference is that it can end up becoming a tower of babel if at some point several people with different languages start using chat 😆
Posted August 7, 2020 now that the german and russian languages have their own chats, the other one is quiet almost all the time, so maybe we dont need to hurry and open 17 more for other languages. but yes the suggestion on this topic could help people talk a little more.
