Unable to see distant trees - settings help please

Looking for how to get distant trees to show up please, this is currently how far trees are rendering into the distance for me:

Very curious what I'm missing, thank you! And yes, have had these settings for multiple logouts

In Compatibility, all set to Core?  That fixed it for me

I don't know why, and I likely never would have changed this myself, but changing VBO from extension (default) to core fixed it. Thank you so very much.
