No Skillgain From Distilling?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that I don't get any passive beverages or cooking skillgain when distilling moonshine, although Wurmpedia says that I should.  Does anyone know if this is a bug, or is Wurmpedia just wrong?

It's very rare a skill tick will happen, more running means you're more likely it seems. Though I'm not really very well versed in this side of the system.

It must be extremely rare in that case... I've never gotten one in all my hours of having the still burning.

You don't get gains from the fermentation process. You get them from running stills and they are small. And yes, those gains are in cooking and beverages. Pedia is correct, if you're looking at the still page. :)

I have 9 stills running regularly at once. That only provides tenths of a point of skill gain every couple hours or so roughly. If you are running one still alone, you're not going to gain much.

Thanks, I guess I'll need to get myself some more stills.  I suppose I was expecting the skillgain to be comparable to Hot Food Cooking gain.

You need to be online to get ticks. You have to fill the still. You have to light the still. If anyone else helps at any time, ticks can go astray or be lost.

I believe the difficulty of the recipe also plays a factor. Moonshine is pretty low, iirc. Try vodka.

I run 21 stills for normally 6+ hours a day. Get about .005 to .01 in that time normally. Make sure you are the last to put stuff in the still.

I need to test but im pretty sure ive gotten cooking/soul ticks from fermenting to undistilled changes if I was online when it happened.
