House Doors

Recommended Posts

I would like to put something like a mine door between the differnt levels of a house. I could then let everyone use the ground floor, but only I and my alts could use the rest of the house.

You could always build a section of walls around where the stairs/ladder leads with one door that has a lock on it, and keep the bottom floors unlocked.

You mean, a door?  🙂

Just put your stairs or ladder behind a door and put a lock on it .

Yup. Just make a door where the stairs end. You can individually assign door permissions for each door in your house.

structures have 2 options... manage all doors from structure permissions, OR each door individually..... <<<<< use the 2nd option you're not using currently.. it's already implemented...🙄

+1 to having doors with perms inside houses...

This feature already exists.

1. Attach a door lock to the door

2. Click door > Manage permissions

3. Uncheck "managed by building" and save

4. Set individual permissions for the door

I totally get what you're saying as well as the solutions offered too. Maybe something like the devs just adding the ability to attach a lock to your steps up. Or maybe a locking hatch door at the top of the steps. So all they'd have to do is change some code for that one building component (steps) I'd assume (as a non-tech person).

You're thinking of RUST, this is WO, you can just make 1 or 4 wallsdoors depending on what it is.. opening or stairs.. and lock the doors above, solution is there.. unless your idea is to additionally.. implement a 'hatch' for wurm...

who's hoarding the screenshots of medieval trapdoors?

You can also put gates inside houses now, so you can have gated access to a stairwell.  You then set individual permissions on the gate - unconnected with the building.

The same method can be used to allow different players to access their own horses from locked stalls within the same stable block.
