Posted June 17, 2020 So while visiting a friend I saw this in chat [21:34:56] Ammar suddenly has a haunted look in the eyes. believe it should say like His or Her Eyes.
Posted June 17, 2020 It would either create an additional need to check whether the character is male or female, or rely on "his or her eyes" . "The eyes" while a little clunky is grammatically correct and a reasonable compromise. I don't think this is a bug.
Posted June 18, 2020 "Their eyes" would circumvent the need for a gender-check.
Posted June 18, 2020 Or lose "in the eyes" altogether. Ammar suddenly has a haunted look.
Posted June 19, 2020 Will add the issue. Thanks for the report.
Posted June 21, 2020 I think the phrase is perfectly acceptable. At worst it may be perceived as quaint or archaic, but this is a medieval game and modern phrasing doesn't always fit as well. Consider whether the phrase is 'pleasing to the eye' when seen in the light of the following: In the eye of the beholder Easy on the eyes A feast for the eyes As far as the eye can see Look me in the eyes when you speak Light catches the eye The King took an arrow to the eye Give someone the evil eye In the eyes of a child One in the eye Twinkle/beam/gleam/glint/sparkle in the eye As you can see there's more to this than meets the eye!
