Network errors: what really happens

Recommended Posts

Somewhere deep in the German country side, a hamster wearing an engineering hard hat is see running towards a server farm control room scream at the top of his lungs...

"The Servers are Down! The Servers are Down !"

The supervisor on duty picks up the little Power Wheel hamster, and patting it to help calm it down says "Let me look into this".

First thing he checks at the Wurm Servers are food stations for the hamsters who power Wurm On Line.

"Sausage flavored edam, Check!".

"Viking flavoured edam, Check!".

"Water trough, Check!".

Then he checks the power cords from the hamster power wheels to the servers.

They appear to be okay.

Then he checks the surge suppressors, just in case one the hamsters got too energetic and popped a circuit breaker.

They appear to be okay.

Then from one of the server cabinets he hears muttering and giggling.

Seizing the handles he throws open the doors to the server cabinet.

To his horror is he sees a whole bunch of nasty, dastardly Gremlins and their notorious leader GLITCH!!

The supervisor slams the server doors and runs screaming for his life....

"We have Gremlins in the Servers!"

The power wheel hamster looks up from where he is cradled in the supervisors arm and says "Maybe it is time to contact the Dev's?"

The supervisor, trembling with fear, locks himself in the control room and as he reaches for the Red Hot Line telephone, he says to the Power Wheel hamster "Good Idea my friend".

SO to all, who like the teller of this Tale, are waiting patiently around the world for Wurm On Line to come back up, may this story teller suggest trying a book.

Yes, unlike a computer, you will have to move the book back and forth and up and down to make the words pass in front of you eyes.  Books do not auto scroll.

But have faith, the Dev's are working on it.
