a help with types of tools and armor

I don't understand much about it. I would like tips for armor and weapons, and know which material or ore is best for each thing;

Also, Cedarwood is best for containers, such as ships, cedar reduces on decay dmg, oakenwood is best for wooden tools, reduced dmg when used.
