Circle of Cunning enchant on Seryl shovel decays quickly

Recommended Posts

Brand new CoC enchanted 30 ql Seryl shovel.  Started using it and the enchant dropped by 2 points in less than 4 minutes.  Is CoC decay supposed to be that aggressive on Seryl tools?

[20:13:40] Circle of Cunning has been cast on it, so it will increase skill gained with it when used. [95]

What sorts of things were you doing with it? If you are doing Leveling, it will decay much faster than if you were doing individual dig actions

Didn't devs make it way easier to lose enchants... last I know is.. now it doesn't matter if you do fast actions 3sec or lower.. every action(or was it .. second of it..) have a chance to lower the enchant.. by what % no idea..

If you're grinding digging/body stats .. probably easy to lose 1 power in 1-3hours by chance, or more with a bit more bad rng, which really nerfs high enchants; I ruined 92coc~ shovel that way.. down to 70c~.. at which point it seemed to slow the losing of power or luck got better somehow..(guess rng again)

It used to be that every 5 seconds an action went on, it had a chance to lower the power of an enchant. Now, any action can lose it, with shorter actions having less of a chance than longer ones. It is also affected by Rarity and Enchant power, the higher each of those is, the less chance it goes down. With a low QL shovel, and doing dig actions, presumably without any WoA, the actions will be quite long, and given its not a rare shovel, it is not surprising to see enchant numbers drop rather quickly.

its entirely rng, around power x 30 chance every 5 seconds of action timer of losing a point, or 1/2850 in that case. you just got super unlucky with the rolls, nothing to do with the fact that it's seryll or anything

https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=(1+-+(1+-+1%2F(95+*+30))^(max(1.5%2C+x%2F5+-+0.5)))+*+min(x%2F10%2C+1)^2+where+x+%3D+0..20

is probability for losing an enchant point at 95 power, bottom of graph is timer length
