Posted November 20, 2019 (edited) -------------------------------------------- December 1st, 2019 to June 27, 2020 Short term server for players who get bored easily. 🙂 -------------------------------------------- BE AWESOME – During June, the final month of Lyra, new players will start with skills and characteristics at 50. New or returning players may arrange to be online at the same time as me to have all your skills boosted to 100, plus receive 100 gold.  Why are we doing this for a server that ends so soon? Because we want to give players an opportunity to try things that they normally don’t have the skills or coin to do. Find out how to use spells, try your hand at sorcery, alchemy, or archaeology. Have fun! -------------------------------------------- Lyra is a slow-paced server with minimal mods, minimal (but strict) rules, and minimal tolerance for griefing or littering. If you are a mature, non-competitive player looking to build in a cooperative environment without GM help for anything besides server glitches, this might be a good place for you.  This is NOT the right server for you if you: - aren't willing (or able) to follow our few rules at all times - think freedom of speech includes a right to alienate or abuse others - believe that it's better to ask forgiveness later than to ask permission first ---------------------------------------------------------------- Game chat via Discord (link on our website: LyraWU.enjin.com)  Game Settings:  1x skill gain / 2x action timers  Characteristics begin at 22. You will be able to ride a horse, but you'll have to work to be able to load a cart.  All skills start at 1.0, except Fighting at 10.0  Custom 4096 map, 50,000 creatures, 40% aggressive. These figures may change as gameplay progresses and there are more ways to escape.  DEEDS: vanilla Wurm settings to found a deed. This means you need 4s 21c to found a deed, which includes cost of the tiles and 3s toward upkeep. However, once you pay this, you will not be charged any further upkeep. See Wurmpedia for more info: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Settlement#Founding  Bounties are set at default rate, making trolls 10 copper and rats 2 copper. Using steel & flint to burn any corpse gets you another 2 copper.  Crops tick every 6 hours, and won't rot if you leave them. Players can farm a 3x3 section with one action at 30 Farming, 5x5 at 50 Farming, and 7x7 at 70 Farming.  No priest restrictions. Faith gains every 20 minutes, limit of 5 gains per day. All spells available to all priests of sufficient skill level. White light gods only, no Libila. The black light is there just for navigation purposes.  Meditation skill gains every 30 minutes, limit of 5 gains per day, with no "fail to relax," but you will have to move each time.  Lyra village is being built by players - the public mine, as well as any public cropland or shelters. In addition, any player is welcome to claim (by fencing) a 3x5 plot within Lyra village, on which you can make a house, crops, animal pens, or whatever you find most useful.  One plot per Steam ID/actual person.  Your alts can share with you.  When you leave town to deed, you may keep your plot as your town home, or turn permissions over to another player (or to Batta, to give to someone).  Edited June 5, 2020 by Batta Final month 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) CHANGES: It seems time to tweak Lyra’s settings a bit. With that in mind, we’re making the following changes during tonight’s backup: - 1x/2x – skill gain will remain 1x, but action timers will increase to 2x - increasing mobs to 50,000/40% aggressive (up from 40,000/35%) - adding creaturesonwater, so that any creature you can lead can be taken over water - NO UPKEEP, but it still costs the vanilla 1c/tile to initially buy the tiles - new max deed size 61x61 (30 in each direction, or equivalent) to balance out the No Upkeep - 1 deed per person/Steam ID - crops tick every 6 hours Edited February 4, 2020 by Batta Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
