artificial intelligence on forums

Recommended Posts

I've noticed an large increase in viewers on the forums.

These viewers are unregistered.

I thought there are to many of them.

Then I thought....they are google and others learning from humans.

Is this crazy? Or is it real?

They are looking at things decades old.

I have some fear.

If they are using the Wurm forums as a base to learn from, then, yikes

Yes, I do wonder at times if some poster's intelligence is artificial but it just may be the artifice of their constructs that make it seem so. No way to tell really just from reading words posted that can be produced and then processed by various mechanisms, the human mind being one of these. Another thought for another day that simply makes the time pass away.....

In some cases, they are replying to things decades old.

Not naming any specific names, of course.

Blame Retro, he asked to lookup older threads in case you're about to suggest something new.. plenty of ideas have reappeared over and over, over the time.. matter of time to eventually necro' one of these.. instead of opening a new one to join the skeleton parade. Better 1 skeleton, than many..

388 guest on the forums. I think that may be more then are playing at this time. Don't you find that strange.

Its a good thing I guess. I've heard the term data miners but don't know what that is.

Only thing I can think of that could mine data would be artificial intelligence. Seems it would only take one from each company. So hundreds?

Well if it is humans. Welcome to WURM

how the .. do you even see them, I read only the registered.

Either way.. you're probably seeing indexing bots.. the more a page gets updated(new content/posts/updates in such) -> the more often index bots visit to catch up all that spilled juice of data that's flowing around

Think of them as sammich makers.. they just hunt for more mustard in the forums

--edit
you track this line??
"WHO'S ONLINE   28 MEMBERS, 4 ANONYMOUS, 341 GUESTS (SEE FULL LIST)",

still.. index bots, also I have for whole my life ignored the existence of that line, it's in gray as insignificant data for a reason ¯\_(ヅ)_/¯

Thank them for their tireless work:

They point to some good post I could never find on my own.

I read some good stuff from 10 years back. I've learned not to respond. It makes the DEV upset.

I saw one of the bots reading a cartoon today. Was short but I think it is something that's needs to be started again by me.

I think he drew then scanned it into his computer. I don't have that skill.

Maybe I can do it with paint.

They read some good things. Keep an eye on them.

edit

nope cant do it with paint. I doubt I can do it by hand and scan it in. Looks like a 4 year old.

I would love to see someone make a cartoon about WURM. I need to get a scanner. A poorly finished one is better than none at all.

I just cant draw. They couldn't so should be ok. Scanners are cheap. They just want to sell the ink that I would no need.

If you can draw and make a cartoon then do it. I just want to see them. I will make them just to see them but I think others may be better at this.

I'd not mind a series of wurm posts with some sketch and coloring or w/e mix of that sort.. + text.. wurm comix or short stories of adventures.. but with a small base of readers idk how that will be paying for the time it costs to make

My guess is it's the outside intrest in the game
Streamers, advertising, etc.. it all does contributes to it
