This week the Gobbler would like to do a deal. It wants 350 planks of each wood type, all delivered to Acacia Pines. The planks may be made by any player, participation is voluntary. In return for the community successfully completing the plank challenge the Gobbler offers personal, individual lists for each player this week. It will accept 8 different types of items, chosen by the player. There is a maximum of 10 items of each item type, they being of the very highest quality that the player is able to make, given their time constraints. The Gobbler will score double points for these lists. It will also make available rare, quality 90 carving knives for sale. If the plank challenge is not successfully completed the Gobbler will throw a hissy tantrum and not issue a list.
Cut off time for this week's plank challenge and personal lists is Friday 2019 09 27 at 10 am UTC (Friday 2019 09 27 at 8 pm Eastern Australian time).

The Gobbler’s Banquet Game starts on 1st November 2019 at 9am UTC (8 pm Australian EDT) and will run for twelve months with daily backup. The game is about production and time management. Players may make a wide variety of buildings and products with metal, rock or wood materials. Players move around the virtual world of the Frenetia server safely. There is no combat.

FirstBanquet-isometric-treemap-copy-1.jp

Trading with other players is encouraged. Foraging and botanising has been adjusted upwards to give a high frequency of ingame currency which may be used to purchase deeds. There is no upkeep cost for deeds. If a player does not log in to the game for over 2 months the deed would need to be repurchased.

Most weeks there will be a list of items that the Gobbler wants, published in game, on the Weight and See site, and on the Wurm Unlimited forums. Scoring is per amount and quality of the items that the player makes and donates to the Gobbler. Scoring will recommence each quarter (Set the table, Entree, Main Course and Dessert) giving players the chance to start over. Players’ skills and buildings are retained for the entire twelve months until the next reset.

Players are very welcome to play on the Frenetia server without participating in the Gobbler’s Banquet game. If players do want to have their items for the Gobbler’s Banquet scored they will need to contact us . pam-gobbler@little-possums.net

Players will start randomly at either Willow Heights Village located in the north east of the server or at Olive Heights village located in the south west.

Hi nitram20.

The old thread has become redundant because that server has  been closed today. This new thread is for the new game which starts today and  is to last for 12 months. The name of the server has also changed, so anyone with the old server name  in a favourites list would need to update that.

New mod on Frenetia: Gobbler's Banquet - One-tile surface mining

Surface mining no longer requires all surrounding tiles to be rock.

You may stand on any rock tile, nearest the corner you wish to mine down.

If you experience any problems with this change, please let us know.

A great start has been made.  Grand total Gobbler points for week one is 5167.

For the players as a group to win the "Set the Gobbler's Table" section of the Banquet they will need to reach the target score of 100,000 Gobbler points by 1st Febuary 2020. The rewards for reaching the target score will still be won even if the target is reached later than that date, into the "Entree" section of the banquet. The rewards will be a feasting table (Julbord) placed in all players" camps, a high quality dye package and an affinity of each players choice.

Participation in the ore challenge is voluntary. After the players complete the delivery of 1000 Q 50 or higher ores of each mineral type, including sandstone, slate and marble to Acacia Pines, the Gobbler will make Q90 rare pickaxes for sale for 5 silvers on merchants at each GM town available to all players.

Roses and maples are harvestable now.  Frenetia is a non-combat server.
