Posted October 7, 2019 This has probably been requested before, but alas. At some point a QoL improvement was made to be able to drag and drop items from your inventory into containers in the world, e.g. piles of items, chests, BSBs, carts, etc. But this requires an existing container - if there isn't one, it can't be done. This would be a pretty useful way to drop things without the right-click interaction. Not that it's crucially necessary, but dragging-and-dropping items to a world tile could create a container (pile of items) there.
Posted October 7, 2019 We have discussed this, it would need a modifier key, otherwise would becom more of a hindrance than a help
Posted October 7, 2019 Can already do this pretty easily. I carry 3 source crystals (light weight), drop on ground, open "pile" and put in items or just drop them on the ground. If mining or digging dirt (with dig_to_pile keybind) it will automatically go into the pile. Many 3 items dropped will create a pile to work from, kindling, woodscraps, gems, etc. When done pickup your 3 items of choice and move to the next spot or chore. There also is a drop_to_pile keybind that can be made which is handy for dropping dirt/sand from inventory which otherwise would just make a big hump in the terrain. =Ayes=
