[Windows Client] Font/GUI scaling broken across different DPI displays

As the title states. Until yesterday, when I'd move client windows between my screens, the physical size of text/GUI elements would remain constant. Now it appears their pixel sizes are being kept constant, while the physical sizes are adjusted. I frequently switch which client is occupying my primary screen space, so using different settings per account isn't a workable solution.

After opening a client, using the same character, and putting it in the same position/size on my secondary monitor as I had it working last night, it does this: 5FUlODG.png

I cannot repro this, the launcher is fine when I move it over to a different DPI scaling monitor, and so is the game.

I'm not sure what's going on in the second screenshot, seems like it's just a small window? You can switch window mode to resizeable and resize it after moving it to the other screen.

Hmm weird. Could be my own Windows scaling settings? Second screenshot, my UI *should* have been the way I had it the previous night(had the client on the same screen at the same resolution) as Wurm stores window element settings by window size, but instead it was as pictured.

I'm having same problem with 4k and 1080p, everything on the 1080p is upscaled to match 4k.

This shows the issue perhaps a little better. Keep in mind those two monitors are the same physical size, and the clients are using the same settings. Fonts appearing equally sized in this screenshot means that they are NOT in reality.

What's your Windows 10 version? (type winver in Start)

What are the resolutions of the monitors? What DPI scaling % is that on them?

Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.678)

 

Resolutions I have now are one at 2560x1440, with 125% scaling through Windows settings, and one at 1920x1080 at 100% (default) scaling. Setting the scaling on the higher res monitor to 100% fixes the launcher issue, but doesn't seem to affect ingame.

Try now, we just released a launcher update that might fix this. The launcher should update itself.

Difficult for me to figure this out as I just can't repro it. I'll try on a different PC but it doesn't happen for me on Windows 10 version 1903. Updating your OS wouldn't hurt, maybe that's the issue.

Also, please post your console.log file from the time it's happening, this is a long shot but it's possible this might be related to some setting in there.

update: finally fixed this by changing some scaling settings, through Windows, on the Wurm client itself. here're the settings I landed on in case anyone else (who isn't banned, RIP Niki) runs into this:N8x4XWV.jpg
