No.

Wurm has lost too much history as it is. The wipe of '07, the forum wipe of '08,  the forum rebuild that happened a couple years later, the revamp of the wiki (removing all player/village lore)...

You would be removing the last "proof" of some amazing people that used to play this game. Some of those people aren't even alive to play anymore.

To quote Sir Winston Churchill: 'A nation that forgets its past has no future'.

Wurm is like a nation created by people from all over the world. Some wonderful people in the past, long before I joined have helped to create the lands of Wurm. We should not forget them.

As_I_Decay put this in the perfect way in their post in this thread.

These Wurm Online forums are a wonderful recording of the thoughts and aspirations of those who have participated within those far off lands beyond times restrictive embrace. You can gain insights into people where these pages allow the chance for more detailed meanderings into their thought process than the fleeting passage of their brief responses within the game where thoughts have little room to expand into these diatribes of exaggeration or insights so profound as to confound the unfounded perplexities of life's simulations within the boundaries of screen scenes simulations.

True too that some of these individuals have passed into the unknown and will never be read again within the presence where we dwell. Yet here in part they remain in individual letters combined so diverse as to be marveled that their combinations would leave the traces of both the joys and tears of their passage. Then you might either find relief in no longer needing to consider their intrusive thoughts or sorrow in that you may just miss whatever particular distinctions and insights that had formerly been available due to at least the ability to softly tap these messenger keys through the anguish that in their final days they chose to triumph over in a last breath of significance to imprint upon these memories of their past.

The solution of course to this situation if it become intolerable in certain situations and personalities too divergent from one's own is to simply slam the door with merely the press of a key and onto the next post or topic which one would deem to be of at least a gleam of interest withstanding the scrutiny of delicate sensibilities of the beholder. Just remember that soon enough some of those whom we really had no idea who they were due to the safety that hides within obscurity, may quietly depart without the slightest hint as to the why or when of it. Then where would we be if not to stumble across their ramblings here or thoughts as firm and inflexible as the rock mountains of these lands in their insistence that what should be is as the way they see it.

Then will you miss their thoughts when they have departed? Or will they miss yours as well? Only the Unknown slyly hides the answer, where in the end speculation will no longer be endured. Until then at least we have these forums to wander at our own leisurely pace, traveling back in time to decipher hidden gems or the petrified remains of whatever the whoever had however perhaps never intended.

Happy Trails
