Change How Deed Disbands Are Announced

Recommended Posts

Everyone has the same opportunity to loot a deed as it disbands, so there is no point in removing the messages.  If you choose not to do your homework then that's on you.  The sooner the deed is looted the better, why delay because of laziness?

Making deeds not appear until a player steps foot on the deed will mean nothing. It will actually just make it easier for the people who are actually committed to looting, because as OP mentions its easy to locate deeds that are low on upkeep and have valuables in them and then watch them for some time.

If you can prevent the deed from sending a message until you set foot on it you can much more easily preemptively wall the place off.

There's actually a very simple, already implemented way this could be instantaneously solved, sitting right under everyone's noses, but the GM's have a hard-on for banning anyone who uses this existing (and currently useable, there's nothing stopping you) mechanic on Freedom - And that is lockpicking.

Making lockpicking fully legal on non-deeded areas would solve a majority of the problems here because people can't fence things off for easy access later. And it also makes something you can already do, legal, which has no reason not to be.

But come on seriously, why is lockpicking even POSSIBLE on freedom if under virtually any circumstance one would be banned for it? Either make the skill impossible on freedom or make it legal.

Casting reveal settlements at set spots every couple of days would tell you exactly what deeds are disbanded when they go missing from reveal, so makes those priests even better

Anyone that sees interesting items in a deed with nobody in it will examine walls until it shows decay and then leave an alt there about 25 days later to make sure they're near deed as soon as it disbands

Walling it in is dumb, but you can take a ballista in a cart to pop wood fences pretty quickly if you have skill in it. Lockpicking should definately be allowed for off deed, it's kind of dumb that destroying it is allowed when it leaves no indication of who did it, but if you look at history on a gate it'll say that it was picked (how tf is a gate telling you that?) pretty sure it says who picked it too but i'd get a warning for testing lmfao, and that's the disallowed one. I should also be able to parkour the tiny fences too, but that seems like more coding.

Sounds good on paper but probably makes it too easy for a dedicated person to loot/fence it in freely as it's not that hard to estimate a disband time for a deed
