Making changes to have the potential to bring back 100 is infinitely better than just holding onto 10.

Basic risk to reward my friend.

Nonsense. The risk is to lose the 10+ people who are a relatively safe asset at the moment, being premed, holding deeds etc.

The chance is the alleged 100 which are hypothesized to exist on discord or steam friend lists, and here in the forums. Simple math says that even the optimum is not "infinitely", but at most ten times better. Reality will be below optimum.

Maybe it is only 50. Maybe only half of them will eventually decide to give Wurm another try, or even less, as some are playing other games, are amid exams, just marrying, got a new challenging job, whatever. Maybe some did not get all they wanted, so just prem for a month or two, then leave for good. So the 100 may easily boil down to 10. Or less. Turning the reward into a penalty, gained by wasting dev and admin manpower.

Yes only a complete reset.

I will not return for a elevation only map reset. I want accounts, items, servers, all reset. Return to natural state.

I honestly don't see you staying no matter what happens.   I remember when you invited me to your deed on Serenity, said I fell for the oldest trick in the book, and then kicked me out.  You said you were tired of playing and wished you could raid and steal from your own home server.   I don't see how someone who thinks and acts like that would stay longer than a week or so on a new server when the core issues are still present within themselves.

I also share the opinion of others here, I think Ele should, but not the home servers.
So I think the poll should be more complete with more voting options.

I just want a new map for Elevation. The catch up mechanics on Epic work well enough.

See ya in 2-3 years when ya "catch up" to even my account.

If you reset Epic, or just do away with it entirely, what takes its place should be 1 map, no pmks, and do away with 90% of the features introduced during epics span.

You could even make it 1 map, wild size, 4 islands, 3 smaller ones on the sides, put a zone around them that make them home servers with the natural debuff. Enemies are allowed to build on said islands.

I lied to you because we wanted you to leave.

It worked pretty well. Well mostly we wanted Wimble to leave if I remember correctly. You were collateral damage.

I am not fun or easy to work with and I genuinely don't care if I hurt your feelings.

Are you seriously going to sit here and tell me that it is better to have 10 players on declining/dead servers who will eventually just leave, over a potential revival of any size greater than 10?

Lmao don't do stocks bud.

You lied again, not only at that Galatyn you obviously and admittedly betrayed. Good demonstration what your babble is worth. You know quite well that there are clearly more than 10 players on Epic, indeed statistics consistently shows more players than Chaos. And the ones logged on some time of the day are only a subset of those holding accounts and deeds. But of course you are aware of.

And CCAB as well as the devs do not share your irresponsible casino mentality. That is why Wurm exists and isn't long broke.

there's between 10 and 30 people on at random times during the day. take away 6 because there's a jk sermon circle, take away however many alts there are, take away the 3 rotab log bots, divide that by 4 because there's 4 servers

yeah it's not populated by any means. neither is chaos but that's also dead from what i hear. i spent plenty of time roaming for kills and the only people i ever found were either at the starter towns, at a deed, or they were doing a mission where i knew where they had to go for it.

Calling me out on a lie, when I actually didn't lie is a new one.

It is not a casino mentality, and you know it. If you do not want to change anything fine, no skin off my teeth, I have no problem returning back to my life instead of offering solutions for the game I have been playing for 10 years on and off.

I fully agree that none of both are populated anywhere near to sufficently, that is out of the question, also that something should be done or at least tried about. And about a reset of the Elevation map consensus seems to exist.

Honestly, I am not sure whether the "it is all dead" faction does not have some point. PvP environments age fast and tend to be hard to revive if at all, and Wurm was atypical from the beginning it seems as PvP too requires a lot of PvE style work and services such as building, crafting etc.

My point is that all "reset all, and bring back the glorious days of 2011" etc. is pointless and illusionary nostalgia, much more the idea that crowds of former players would flock in and make a crowded place again. A sensible reset of the Elevation map would be a step in the right direction, and possibly help to bring more Freedom players to Epic. The skill transfer stuff may require some change as well, allowing limited (adjusted by the Epic curve effect) retransfer of skills to Freedom. And no matter what the devs are planning for next year, or intend to start planning then, a map reset on Elevation should be done now, not then. And as to the "temporary map", it should be clear on the one hand that a map created now must not be an obstacle for further overhaul of Epic PvP, but also, that it should not be scrapped lightly once it proves a success. So Retrograde might rethink the "temporary map" statements at least a bit.

I will be sure to inform Old School Runescape and Classic WoW.

Must not be worth the time to develop either or offer that alternative.

It seems you have not much of a clue even here. There was a reason why Blizzard stubbornly refused to go that way for quite a time, and WoW Classic having been under development since at least 2017 (prolly earlier), and that taking in account the deep pockets and staff numbers of Blizzard. It is pathetic even to try to compare that to Wurm.

When citing the tragic decline of Wurm Online from 6,300 at peak to 2,200 now, WoW with 12M at peak in 2010 and last published 5.5M in 2015 (when Blizzard stopped publishing) is hardly in better shape (estimates say 3 to 4M recently), only that the figures are orders of magnitude higher. Maturing games lose participants. Yet with appropriate advertising Wurm has better chances to turn or at least stem that tide.

it leaves the fact that just like in WoW, and before OSRS became a thing, community projects of earlier content states in both games gathered more players than their current counterpart which is the same in wurm pvp

currently there is a project underway in WU which its only bottleneck is the anti cheat system, to lay that off to more income or staff of both blizzard and jagex is not realistic either though

if a community server with volunteer modders and GM's can do it, which was also the case for desolation 3 (the most popular WU pvp server to date), then i would expect a 10 year old company to do it in a heart beat, who was responsible for the port to steam and a standalone version for private servers, dont be silly

Want a good poll done? get the devs to run one ingame on epic where alts dont count(1 vote per ip if ip matches that of a previous login only(to prevent vpns)) and then email everyone who plays on epic about it and dont allow new accounts to vote and so on make a good system to vote and run the vote and see what people who are still around/willing to log into epic to give their say have to say about it

doing what? making bricks? There's no PvP. So I don't know what everyone wants to keep. it's not going anywhere

It's already been said that Elevation only needs a new map. +1 for Elevation. Big no to everything.

Deleting Chaos(or making it PvE Server), Resetting Elevation and creating an equal transfer system of skills would be the better option to achieve a universal PvP player base without the " Anti-PvP play freedom perspective systems " that currently exist through the transferring and protection of items from Chaos to freedom and the one-way skill transfer system.

Just so its known, the creator of this thread has been inactive from the game for over a year. Creating an unofficial poll does not reflect the thoughts of the actual Epic player base and only allows for people who either don't play the game, play freedom or trolls to comment about such suggestions. A bunch of people who abandoned the server should not be taken seriously compared to the players who have continued to contribute to the game by actually playing and paying for it.

so, what you are saying is, your opinion matters more just cause you keep to pay money for nothing in return?

who are you anyway, hard to believe you are active

90% of those below would come back btw, and thats just my friendslist on steam
