This ones going to be rough in places, you might see tool marks in the terrain and bits arnt as tidy as they could be. I just did this as an exercise - don't expect anyone will want to use it so will leave it as is. If anyone DOES want to use it I'm happy to do more work.

Personally I like a bit more steppe for finding hellhorses/horses, although this one has a number of "steppe freckles" scattered around.

 

I love looking over new maps :D and enjoy the terrain on yours (not too flat nor too rugged)

 

I might try that Map 101 of yours next (I am a sucker for a bit of snow and a few rivers)

thanks. I have previously struggled doing rivers but have recently improved to where I can do them better and more reliably.

 

I never really know what to put for biomes as everyone's preferences are different (lots of ppl dont like any snow for example) but the hightmap is included in every zip so you can just throw it into wgenerator to re-do your own biomes and ore values.

 

Another difficult balance as you mention is amount of flatness - lots of ppl like very flat maps because it easier to build on but personally i think they look boring and unrealistic so i prefer varied elevation = i really don't like being able to see far distances unless im high up or in a desert or something.

Overly flat maps are also a pain in the arse for finding good mining areas, while overly rugged is hard to travel. I think you hit a very nice balance.

Just to say, I have been playing on MAP 103 for a little bit now and it is a very enjoyable, well made map. Nice mix of huge wide open meadows and dense thick forests.

 

Probably will give MAP 101 a try my next time I have an itch for a new map.  

 

I appreciate your community service in adding new maps to the WU catalog ....

Love all the maps!

 

How about one with a LOT of snow and maybe a big-assed monster sized mountain-in-the-center, for someone wanting to play a "winter survival modded" themed server?   Rivers too. Mostly Firs, Cedars, Pine. Plus maples so you always know when it is Autumn.  That was even when it is not actually winter, there will always be a "northern exposure" feeling to the land and a Mount Denali-McKinley type landscape always there in the background in the background no matter where you go...

When adding the biomes the trees didnt seem to be adding anywhere there was snow - 'Im not sure if its a case of the map just doesnt show them or if they were not applied. In generated a bunch just in case but you may have a map thats mostly devoid of tree-life :P

That looks great  ^_^   Not sure when I am going to start my PERMAFROST playthrough, but this map is next on my list !!  

 

Sounds like it will work great with this mod:

 

 

If there are no trees above the snowline, I will simply have to make a pilgrimmage to the sourth coast (or start there) and bring sprouts along with me and hand plant a few forestry zones.
