Anyone comments on the green color i get with compressed textures on?

Sure. Compression works by limiting the color palate and averaging colors to combine them to fit in the new limit (among other things in the S3TC Spec). The real question is why you got green, instead of blue. I usually get a bit more blue for the cobblestone. What is your texture settings set to? As the miping down in size may have changed the average of the colors.

My contribution isn't really helpful, but I just wanted to note that this issue with compressed textures and 'green' cobblestone' has been around for ages.

I got a weird issue with the unstable client. After a reboot of my system the first startup/login fails. I hit play but nothing happens at all, the rendering window never appears. The java process of the client is running though. if I kill that process or just let it run doesn't matter, the 2nd login just works fine.

I'm running on Debian Linux with the LWJGL renderer. I would attach a console log but it doesn't generate one when the login fails :( The log I found is always from the last successful login.

anything I could do to help debugging this?

You could enable the java console from the java control panel. Possible to also use the java monitoring & management console to get an idea of what going on. You can normally access this from Applications -> System Tools -> Sun Java 6 Console. Well thats if you are using the most recent JRE from sun, not sure about the monitoring tools that OpenJRE has.

It's probably related to the AWT thread waiting, so it should be fixed in a while.

fixed in the Wurm client or fixed in the JRE?

Then name them all and help them instead...

There are options "Display ... in menus" in the game config tab for Examine, No target, Spam mode and Stop.

Afair those were added by the last major client update because the server was supposed to send those now or the server was about to be changed to not send them anymore. Something like that

Changes in 2.6.8-1831

* Bugfix: Compass would crash client if you moved without stopping for too long

* Dragging now drags entire stacks of items. Holding shift when dragging lets you choose the amount.

* Bugfix: Workaround for a Vista/Win7 bug in the installer.

* Bugfix: Input fields in popup windows should now respond to the enter key.

* Bugfix: Reflections were not always disabled when they should.

* Bugfix: Color picker crashed client when alt-tabbing.

* Changes to tree rendering. Should run faster than before.

* Changes to texture handling. This should remove the general slowness seen since September.

* Known issues: Wound coloring is broken on test. Client is not updated for latest test features overall.

Not exactly a "bug" but I've seen no change in FPS.

I don't know if it's just me, but the new unstable client renders stone doors from a distance as either A) A stone fence, or B) wooden house wall.

Edit: It also seems palisade gates render as stone walls.... Appears to be something wrong with long-distance rendering.
