Froze after update and graphics now poor

Recommended Posts

Froze so badly after update, had to kill process to quit.

I was half way thru building a stone wall at the time.

Forge was still lit on relog... and FPS have dropped from 60 to 30...

Graphics on low settings are now abysmal, which they weren't before the update.

Spoiler

And why do I use low settings?  Because, using default settings, computer temp rises dramatically and FPS drops significantly:

with default settings, this is what happens:

As people found and reported issues on the forums, Samool was gathering information from them and making fixes.  He's already updated the client twice since the initial downtime to fix reported bugs.

An updated client doesn't need the server to be brought down, but you do need to log out and back into to get the updates.  I'm not sure from your post if you logged out and back in before your post.

Please log out all clients and log back in and let me know if these are still issues for you?

(The lit forge not being fixed is a different issue and is still on the forums)

Thanks for the report.

It is very common for a "computer crash" to cause a graphics driver to get corrupted.

I would delete / reinstall your graphics driver, including a computer reboot in there, and see if that helps.

Thanks for your responses.  The graphics issue seems to have cleared on reboot.

The heating problem on using default or better than low settings remains tho and that is with a snazzy water cooling system in my pc.
