Patch Notes: 21/MAR/19 New HotA and tweaks

target something out of range - can eat, lead horses, drink wine, reimp your armor or whatever when in combat

 

perhaps you should just fix that bug instead of making it so you cant eat for 10 seconds after?

So why didn't the devs remove "the trick" so you can't eat, drink or whatever while in combat? Sounds more like the issue is identifying when the player is actually in combat. Wouldn't that fix all the issues with doing unintended stuff without nerfing a silly action like eating ? From what people say you seem to also be able to lead a horse with the now famous "trick".. and that's a really bad bug for pvp too..

can someone clarify what it means to "put the new hota in the game but leave the old one incase the new one doesn't work"

 

who and how is the success of the new hota system going to be measured,

 

the entire pvp community has already said its not going to work on either server as desired, because the maps are the size of an actual ###### planet and we have no players

Honestly even them being qued up during combat and all instantly eaten the second you break combat for instant stamina you don't need to stop for is not any better than eating it mid fight sandwiches where not intended to be used like that so we have removed the ability to eat them shortly after combat.

Tweaks can be made to it as it unfolds, if some elements need tweaking or don't work we will be sure to revisit them but we would like to see some actual time go by in game before making any major changes.

So why isn't the entire calculation of either you are or are not in combat increased by 10 seconds after you went out of combat so that it fixes drinking, leading or whatever other action you could have done before while breaking combat ? Why is leading a horse while in combat any different, and not as worse, than being able to eat a sandwich while in combat ? or drink water or repair your sword ?

It's not always just a troll. What if you have a dragon on you and trying to get it down from a mountain to slay it. With the low stamina you'll have when using a refresh rune you'll probably have around 30s use timer for that, which is easily enough time for any unique to get a hit on you to interrupt the action. Refresh spell isn't an option either with the 3 minute cooldown it has.

Jukimo needs to give WU a history lesson. 

 

Once upon a time a math genius known as Banzai did a 1v1 on the hill side between Edoras and the ###### hole Dagobert made for JK there. Mechanics didn't allow you to eat a sandwich in combat at all, so little old Asian genius did /stuck while queuing to eat sandwich for stamina to bypass the mechanics not allowing him to eat sandwich in combat. Good ole Jukimo and the EMR boys reported next patch you couldn't use /stuck while in combat anymore.

 

TLDR IT WAS NEVER INTENDED FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO EAT SANDWICH'S MID COMBAT TO REGAIN STAMINA, ANY METHOD USED TO BYPASS IT IS AN EXPLOIT. 

 

Also wtb smaller map for new hota system kthx.

I think I need to take the time to clear up something. 

 

We do not under any circumstances take development actions purely on the demands of a player.

 

When a bug is reported, or a mechanic questioned, it goes to the dev team for discussion. The first step is identifying whether its a bug, a result of unintended mechanics, or intended play. 

 

This was a result of unintended mechanics, and from there a discussion about the best way to address the single issue of regaining stamina by eating in combat. 

 

We did discuss the other issues raised such as leading out of combat but that's used in pve and breeding, and while it may not be intended it certainly has less impact as the stamina regaining. 

 

From there we used the 10 second combat cool down, as this would mean youhave to break combat and wait to eat, but doesn't affect natural stamina regeneration. 

 

Tdlr this was identified as unintended mechanics and fixed, not because a kingdom yelled at us to change it.

Haha so u telling me that being able to take lead of a horse during pvp whilst in combat is not busted. Oh i wonder how many players have got away from using that

Stam sandwich = extra stamina to stay in fight or to help u leave

 

Being able to take lead of a horse during pvp = extra cr bonus plus the option to stay in pvp fight or leave

 

Oh i wonder what one is more busted

Oh finally leading a horse in combat is out, thanks for the change, if people need 1 cr bonus then don't get dehorsed, or if you need to leave then maybe don't lose your horse *shrugs*

Eating stam sandwiches to stay in a fight? That's lame, glad that got pulled out. Better "stamina management" from those dependant on that if you're moaning, much easier eh :) 
Can't believe how these people need easy mode. Literally had zero stam issues in all my fights and i didn't have sandwiches, wow, experienced player vs inexperienced player, i sell manuals
If you're worried about leaving the fight then make a longer term plan or run away before things get even, oh wait. :) 
Explains why I haven't seen 2 champs from enemy kingdom run out of stam like they use to. *shrugs*

Good changes.

Looking forward to trying out the hotas!

If my enemy aren't too concerned about stamina or leaving on horses in combat maybe we can have some sweet fights!

Maybe that's just what happens when one side knows how to report a bug, and the other just vents in here.

But no bugs were fixed. The only thing that came to happen was a 10 seconds delay on the action. The only thing that happened is a band aid being applied.

Whats the fun with infinite stam in fights? Same with horses, thought you had to break combat to lead them unless they are tamed so you could just jump straight on them tho.

 

Why not just report stuff that is broken instead of using it? Not the first time people in your kingdom decided to exploit it instead of reporting and then claim the devs/GM's are in TC's pocket when they report it...*supreme boat*


If you can't win without it then maybe go back to the drawing board and come up with a new strategy instead?

its that this will create disputes of interest, since those devs can obviously choose what to work on and what not

 

the stamina thing was just the most recent one, pretty much any update catered to TC apart from the priest one which they just recently got changed aswell, what a surprise, cause they didnt know how to play in that meta

If youre out of combat for 10sec your stamina is gonna regen anyway. Whats the point of sandwiches then?  Just fix the bug so you cant queue them in combat. And if the enemy lets you get out of combat and eat a quick sandwich,  whats the problem with that? Just keep people in combat and they wont be able to eat
