[UPDATED] WSA: New horse colours turning grey (part 2)

Recommended Posts

WSA.png

UPDATE: 14/12/18

The fix has been applied and horse colours are staying as they should. We advise you log support tickets if your horse lost colour and we will be around to address it when possible, please include

Server

Horse name

Horse colour before going grey

Any evidence you have of them being that colour beforehand

with this information we should be able to attend to these tickets even if you are offline

Please bear in mind that there will be limits to how many we can change per player, so we do reserve the right to request more information or evidence of large scale colour changes.

Hi Everyone

It appears the cursed horsewashing incident has returned, and all new coloured horses have once again been reverted to grey! This pesky bit of code seems to have crept around far too long, and we plan on eliminating it once and for all. We will be performing another restart tomorrow around the same time (1400 CET+1) to remove it. We may need to perform two restarts incase the first one does not work, so be warned that it may be happening.

To make up for this really annoying inconvenience, we'll be giving out another 5 hours sleep bonus during this restart.

Until we do these restarts, we won't be changing horse colours back, just incase it happens again, we don't want to do it for a second third fourth time.

We're also investigating reports of an increasing number of grey foals, but this issue is unrelated to the restarts and will be investigated separately.

We do appreciate your patience and understanding, and we're aware it's as frustrating for you as it is for us.

Retrograde & the Wurm team.

its stack with the 10hs or need burn 5hours?

10 hours is the cap, so it would not go to 15, yoiu'd need to burn 5.

Are we sure that we're washing the horses with color-safe detergent?

We believe the gremlins replaced it

It's hard to read clocks while you're upside down

Just wondering, should we refrain from breeding affected horses until they're fixed?

should be fine

How do our horses get back to the right color then?

I really wish we got something akin to sleep powder for the sleep bonus instead, like i've got 10 hrs already and it'd be awesome if we just got like 'golden' sleep powder that was untradable, undroppable but worked to give the 5h bonus. Just sayin.

You're not using it anyway, does it really matter in this case?

All i'm saying is that it's still an inconvinence for me just like you, and at the end of the day If i have not used it or if maybe i didn't login until tomorrow i didn't know and wasn't able to use it in time i'd not get it. I just thought it'd be easier on folks like me who do have a life and cant always use their sleep bonus as much as we might like.

That's a good idea about the sleep powders...

...but I just don't want to see any of the dev team turning grey as well! :)

Aye the main difference is that it'd be a different item, and be untradable and has to be in inventory so it has to be used by the person who recieved it. It'd just be easier on folks who either don't have enough room in their sleep bonus pool or just like having the option of when to use this boon from the devs.

I assume the very high ratio of wild grey horses is due to this problem?

Maybe for wild spawns but not  for 5 speed traited which is what Im breeding, never had more than 1 maybe 2, overall, now got 5 outta 8 being grey, thats way too high a ratio. Plus it does not give any indication whether they are suppposed to be a new color, jsut says grey but thats what the one new colored foal says also.

We're investigating that issue separately, given that the system that changed existing horses wouldnt touch unborn horses it's not connected.

We'll keep looking into that but it's out of the scope of this issue
