Posted December 10, 2018 I ran a couple of maps for a few weeks with the ‘Tree Spread Odds’ setting at the default of 20. The grasslands/meadows on those maps were quickly overrun with trees. I then tried turning it down to 10 and noticed the trees still taking over. I just set it to 1 on a new map, and will see what happens. What setting are others using? Posted December 10, 2018 From server admin page on the wikipedia site Tree Spread Odds Chance for a Tree with a Sprout to propagate, value is used a % as x/100 chance to propagate
Posted December 12, 2018 Thanks Bigsteve. I had missed that entry. I’ve turned the tree spread right off. If I need any reforestation, I’ll just plant the trees I want, where I want them. Cheers, Singultus

If I understand correctly, it's a "one in X chance" so if you choose 10, you get one in 10 chance. We set ours to 80, and that works fine, giving us very slow tree spread. Keep in mind that the tree spread odds also determine the rate of the spawn of mushrooms, so you want some chance. Posted December 25, 2018 Yes it's 1/n unless it's set to 0 which disables tree spreading entirely. Also setting that to 1 causes weird side effects like no shrooms spawning. Why? Rolfcode.
