Posted October 24, 2018 (edited) New 24 October 2018 PVE SERVER STATS: A nice 4096X4096 map created using Wgenerator 2.8 and World Machine. Plains, hills, rivers, snow capped mountains, deserts with dunes. Something for everyone. Inizio, a small new player deed. Nothing fancy. A mine , clay, Stable Master, Barkeep and the 8 server portals connected to 8 distant portals and NO guards. Each distant portal has a guard tower with 8 guards for your safety. 80,000 creatures. 70% aggressive so with the bounty system making money isn't hard at all. Characteristics start at 23. Fighting starts at 10 with a 2x player modifier. 35 Minimum mining hits. 2 hours per field growth tick. So about 12 hours till ripe but no crop rot. 2x skill gain and 5x action speed so you can work at a reasonable rate without topping out skills in a week. Skills start at 1. Deeding costs no. Free deeds with 2 silvers added to your upkeep at settlement creation. Not enough for a guard but it's a start. Upkeep yes. Minimum upkeep is 50 coppers. MODS: Announcer: Logging on or off is announced. Betterdig: Put/take diggings to/from carts, crates, ships or piles. 20 clay per dig. 10 moss, tar and peat per dig. Bounty: Coin for killing mobs sent to your bank. Creature Age: Faster growth to age adolescent. After that one day per age tick. Example, Old takes 40 ticks.Crop Crop Mod: No rotting. Deed Mod: (Disabled until fixed. No deed limits) 2 settlements per Steam ID. Max deed is 81x81 or 6561 tiles. Harvest Helper: Players can issue /seasons to get the excat time until a season starts. Players will receive a message with the current and upcoming seasons (within a day) in the event window. Inbreed Warning: Warns if two animals are closely related to avoid compounding bad traits. Movement Mod: Players, carts, horses and boats move faster. Players, carts and horses climb steeper slopes. Players carry more before becoming encumbered. Dragons are a bit slower. Portals: 8 portals, NW, N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W each with a guard tower. Pick More Sprouts: Pick 3 sprouts at a time. Server Map: M key opens the server map. Spell: No priest restrictions. Max favor needed = 95. Cast all spells. Unlimited prayers each day but they have to be 20 minutes apart. Stable Master: Animal tokens cost 1C. Can be on any boat. Not very heavy. Survival: Winter is not just a set of graphics. Set to mild. No difference north to south. No poison water. Different growing seasons for crops. New player buff makes you immune to weather for 24 hours of play time. Upkeep Costs: Minimum Upkeep = 50C. Guard cost = 2S. Guard Upkeep = 1S. Mods Added: (27 October 2018) One Tile Mining: 100% success when surface mining. Bulk Transfer: (This one is a little buggy. Can't do "All I can carry". Have to enter a specific amount. But I'd rather have it like it is than not at all.) (28 October 2018) Treasure Map (Big thank you to all the modders out there) You can use whatever client mods you want. But NO Macros. I recommend these client mods: Improved Compass, Max Toolbelt, Live Map, Wurm ESP, Cave Vision, Time Lock. DO NOT use No Winter since winter can kill you and it's probably a good idea to know that it's winter. Since the dirt was laid 60 deep you need to be at least 81 high to avoid a wet mine when mining on flat terrain. 85 would be even better. This generates a temperature value. Each crop has a minimum temperature that it requires to grow. Posted October 25, 2018 (edited) Looks just about perfect for me. Map is gorgeous with realistic tree/resource placement compared to the blobs many maps have. Mixture of tree types, etc. Lots of lovely views. I like the high aggro mob percentages, survival mod, lower skill gains and the nice mix of quality of life mods. I'm moving in and hoping the server sticks around One note, so far I am not able to start a settlement. Nothing happens when using the found settlement option, no pop-up window, no error message. Posted October 25, 2018 Just realized you can't dig while on your cart and have the dirt go in/out of crates on this server. I had thought that was part of betterdig, but see you have indicated "no digging while mounted." It also says "put/take diggings to/from carts." How exactly do you have this set up on River World? I press the green start button, the wheel graphic spins for a bit and nothing. All that shows is the red error button and the green start button. Nothing else. Posted October 30, 2018 So after only a few days Pingperfect has utterly destroyed everything that has been done on this server. Not sure if I want to even try again. More sad for all the people who started a home there. I need to give it a couple days to mull it over and decide if I want to see it all get trashed again by some hosting service. Posted October 30, 2018 Oh my .... as I've mentioned, I have zero knowledge about running a server so am of no use here. Maybe one of our resident gurus has some ideas on how to salvage things? Perhaps a more friendly and knowledgeable Pingperfect rep can do better? I respect your decision either way, you put a lot of work into the server and this all has to be very frustrating. Posted October 31, 2018 I have at least a recommendation. Would you trust a company called pingperfect with lots of negative feedback here on the forums to host your private photos, bank details and basically all your private data? No? So why would you trust them hosting a WU server in which you put a big amount of time and energy. Always host WU servers yourself on a vps or dedicated root machine. Learn about backup strategies, internet security, firewalls, service monitoring and networking. You will be good. Being a server admin takes more than installing some mods and clicking on a green button to start the server. This is not a hate comment, I just want to give a friendly but honest advice.
