Freezing In Combat?

Heya.  Recently started playing again.  Wanted to wait until I got back in the swing of things to buy premium time.  But every time something sees me and enters combat my game freezes.  It doesn't crash like it does on login occasionally where an error message pops up.  It shouldn't be my PC(Windows 10, running 64bit java, GTX970, 8GB RAM, i7-4970).  I'm assuming its Java for some reason (I downloaded 64 bit Java).  Any ideas?

Please post a copy of your console log so that we can help troubleshoot the issue with you.

 

That log is found in your wurm directory with the file name console.playername.log

Sorry I was trying to figure out how to do all of that stuff I'm not super computer savy.  But I just saw the other post on how to pull the console log and posted it all there.  If I could figure out how to delete this post I would so everything wasn't posted twice but of course I can't even figure that out...

It seems like your Wurm installation is broken - you need to re-verify the packs to fix it. Open the launcher, press the cog button on the lower right corner of the window, use Verify. It should update the files back to a working state.

So I attempted this and a hell hound attacked me and the game froze.  This time the bottom part says "Unable to load texture data from graphics.jar:gui/FightIcons/pointer8.png"  instead of "pointer3."  When I click the cog only two (PMK Graphics and Sound Files) are automatically selected.  I'll select the third one, update, and try again.

 

Edit:  Selected all 3, same issue.

Can you delete the graphics.jar file and force a redownload of it all?

If by that you mean delete the graphics.jar then have it reinstall when I open the client for the game yes.  Also, I've deleted it all and reinstalled it and have the same issues.  It's so weird i used to play on my older pc that was way worse than what I have now and never had issues.  I wonder if it's some other program not Wurm related that is interfering with it.

Double check your java installation as well as graphics drivers, if you have a client log that's different to the one you shared before could you post it here again? 

 

It's a curious issue, one we'd like to identify why it's happening

Java 64 installed for sure.  And when I go to task manger it shows Java not Java32bit or whatever so it's running the 64 bit.  Drivers up to date.  I just logged in and got this one right after I loaded in the game.  Not combat related.

As the log says, something in your system is using/going through the files used by Wurm in the runtime. Possibly some overzealous anti-virus software?

Got it again.  I tried turning off my antivirus.  It routinely lags for me.  Like it's smooth, then every 5ish minutes or so my game freezes for maybe half a second.  Then it picks right up.  And it does it without crashing.  Which makes me think maybe the reason I crash is because some times I am performing other actions ie combat, crafting, or something else right when it lags and maybe it just crashes itself because something is already going on and the extra action throws it overboard.
