Fake land at server borders

Can you add a fake backdrop at the server borders that makes it look like there's an entire landmass across the server border?  It would be fake of course, but makes it look more appealing when looking far away instead of empty ocean.

Making the distant lands look like it's greyed out like it's foggy wouldn't be too bad a hit for instant orientation.  Be more of an outline and can tell it's distant lands and not part of mainland.

In real life, when you're out on the open ocean, no landmass nearby, you get this sense of the scale of the ocean. You realize how tiny and insignificant you are. I feel like keeping that open ocean feeling at the server borders adds to the idea that you're sailing into the horizon and putting your faith in your own navigation skills.

Fake distant land in the background sounds like it would just be misleading to new players, who don't yet realize it's fake, or who think it represents the next server across the border.
