Posted June 27, 2018 (edited) We've all shaken our heads at these tall mountains littered with beef we can't reach. On some servers, such as Xan, there are so many spawns up on the mountainside, it's a wonder we ever get to kill anything near sea level. Yeah, sure, climbing and stamina could help us clear these out, but the problem returns again and again. Please, limit the wandering of non-aggressive animals not being actively lead by a player to a maximum slope of 40 or 50. Help us reach our meat! If we can reach them, we can cull them and help the server performance overall. Alternatively, give them a stamina capacity. They get worn out and slide down slopes like we do if they climb too much. This change would allow aggressive creatures to still go anywhere they like and terrorize appropriately, even if players build large earthwalls to protect themselves. Thank you! Posted June 27, 2018 -1 I live on a mountaintop and with the last creature change I already have barely any wild creatures around me. I'd hate to have even less.
Posted June 27, 2018 Maybe we should wipe all creatures and once a day have a random drop all over the server, and let the crates fall where they may... It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's bull drop time!

Anyway it will be a problem for people living on high street flat tops of mountains as @AJBlacksaid. Maybe instead make that animals don't stay long on high slopes and move to the next tile untill they find lower slope

And doesn't that just attract more mobs to that spot (which is supposed to be why we have to bury corpses)? So yeah, archery can kill them, but that just creates more problems. I can see that being a short term quick fix, but I'm asking for a long-term solution to an ongoing problem of non-aggressive animals just being clustered on mountain sides. Posted June 27, 2018 This solution is also a short term solution. What is needed is a much more comprehensive AI overhaul (herd behaviour and one unit picking destination, the others moving with the herd).
Posted June 27, 2018 Maybe someone can just convert all the AI above 50/60 slope into mountain goats.

Herds of stuff is a portion of the issue when there's 5 "herds" on the side of one mountain. Also, not a short term solution if you consider that a horse attached to a cart can't climb higher than 40 slope, it makes the "wild" non-aggressives have a limitation on slope (such as 50 slope) as well. This would be higher than an animal pulling weight, but also not immersion breaking when you watch things slide up a sheer cliff with no effort. Keeping in mind, I'm not suggesting changes to aggressive mobs. They don't cluster as bad and frankly should go where they please.
