Allow us to place decorative fences with no collision in a manner similar to the 'place' command.

Curb, low hedges and fences--these "walls" or "fences" have no collision as-is, and making an adjustment to these will allow us to place (and rotate!) these in a way that follows diagonal roads, without needing to completely rework systems. Perhaps creating a separate "item" version of these in addition to the current method would be a straight-forward approach, as the system is already in place via the 'place' command to actually line them up as needed.

Love the idea.  also need some smaller fence types. The spiral staircase has an odd tile usage.

I can see curbs working well here.

Lavender would look nice too but will need a dirt tile to grow it - an additional grass verge by the side of the road maybe - as corner tiles are logically paved tiles.

 

A nice simple idea that won't block anything.  +1

Also, maybe this can be accomplished for all fences by adding an option to "build in nearest corner" kind of like now you pave a diagonal road. Don't know how well that would work. Just kind of adding on to the OP's idea.

Or create diagonal fence which can be rotated.
