Now I have fought champ whales before on Angelklaine (barely 70 FS account) and its been hairy, but I survived. What happened here, however, shouldn't be a thing. Posted April 3, 2018 You had what, 8 CR? 9? Base whale CR is 30. Does anybody know the exact modifier Champion gives? Let's just say double, though I'd guess (from limited champ experience, granted) that champion creatures are more than twice as difficult than base. With no focus, that'd give you 9 / 69 hit chance. Let's round that to a 1/7 hit chance. For the brief period at level 5 focus, it would round very roughly to 1/4 hit chance. You'll notice you did 'land' a hit, but it glanced off his armor. I think we've all got Wurm stories of failing those odds that many times in a row, and that's assuming champ didn't make it even worse odds, and that nothing weird was lowering your CR at the time. Posted April 3, 2018 3 base + 8 from fighting + 1 per 30 nimbleness + 1 from agressive fighting skill. This would give him 12 with no nimbleness and up to 15 with a 90 nimb weapon. 28/33% hit chance 0 focus 42/45% max focus before glancing/blocking/parrying/modifier. There's my last fight with a champ whale, also 80 fighting. Didn't bother focusing at all as i was in drake. Were you in the correct range? Champion whale you pretty much have to be inside it for the correct spot, then be in the passenger seat so you don't drift into too far, that gives quite the debuff to hit rate.
