Let all new clothing, including wool, function as cloth armor

Recommended Posts

It's my understanding a lot of the newer clothing items, such as wool hats, do not count as armor the same as other clothing.

This seems kind of absurd to me; why shouldn't a wool hat count as cloth armor the same as a cloth hood? There's no great balance reason, and it means we wouldn't have to sacrifice anything for aesthetics.

I tested a wool hat with aosp, hitting it with a weapon as a player both gave aosp and damaged the hat so I'd say it works as armor?

I think it's a question of protective value, serving as a helmet of sorts.

Minimal value but still some.

Would there be a way to consistently test the protective value to the player?

If you hit someone five times in the head, heal, then repeat exactly the same way, I don't think the resulting injuries would be the same.  Not sure how to compensate for that when testing, or if knowledge of the code would be necessary?

Wurmpedia seems to indicate it doesn't provide protection, but don't know if that is current.

+1 if applicable.
