Posted December 19, 2017 As far as I know the bridge decay depends on how often it is used, not on whether it is part of a highway (or not). In the past it used to be similar to cobble roads which also decay in time, if they are not used. Having a bridge or house on a highway route should reduce decay (bridges already get a decay reduction for use, so could just double that). Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) I did look it up and seen that too but seems like if it was part of a legal highway it should be decay free. I guess i will build one and see how it goes it is in a spot that a small land bridge would have worked too but the bridge will be nicer looking.
